0051.0080: Passing of Duncan Dewar

Newspaper article with the sad news of another Fort Steele old timer passing away.

FORT STEELE

The sad news was received in the village of the death of Miss Bessie Cann, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E.J. Cann, of Calgary, and granddaughter of Mr. Chas. Mair, Victoria.  Mrs. Cann and her daughter were on their way to visit relatives at the coast, staying for a brief visit with Mrs. E. Creighton, sister of Mrs. Cann at Okanagan Mission.  Deceased lady became ill, contacting pneumonia and despite every care and attention, passed away.  The late Miss Cann was for many years a resident of Steele, and only in the early part of this year was a guest of Mrs. Galbraith.  Mr. and Mrs. Cann and family have the sympathy of the village folks in their sad bereavement.
