LOCAL NOTES

H.J. Ryder, manager of the district trout hatchery, is now confident that his experiment of successfully incubating the eggs of crossed Kamloops and cutthroat trout is a success. Early in the season Mr. Ryder segregated 14,000 eggs of the cross trout and is now in a position to state that the venture has been a success. The young fry are now swimming free and are as lively as crickets. A search is now being made for a suitable lake, hitherto fishless, in which to plant the half-breeds, or, what they will be called henceforth, Cranbrook trout.
