LATER FROM COLUMBIA RIVER. -  The news from the Big Bend country is encouraging.  Diggings pay from $16 to $18 a day to the hand had been struck.  Mr. Romon, Mr. Baxter and others from Yale, who had gone over to the diggings, had returned to the head of Shuswap lake, in order to take their loaded trains in with goods, being perfectly satisfied with the prospects.  Mr. Moberly had got through to the Columbia River with the trail.
