A NATIONAL TEA – The Form of Entertainment Decided Upon for the Hospital Benefit

The meeting of the ladies held Monday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Magee, to devise plans for a grand entertainment for the benefit of the hospital, was a success.  There was a large attendance and it was decided to hold a “National Tea” in Wentworth hall on November 27.  Another meeting has been called for tomorrow evening at 7:30 o’clock, at the parlors of the Cranbrook hotel for the purpose of completing arrangements, and the ladies are anxious to have the gentlemen of the city present at that time.

The plan is to hold the supper with tables representing the people of Canada, America, England, France, Ireland and Scotland, and the national dish of each country will be very much in evidence.  The following ladies have been named as a committee: Mesdames Magee, McInnes, Leitch, Morris, Erickson, Costigan, Fortune, Drummond, Murphy, Jackson, Simpson, Reid, Morrison, Lund, Rogers, Breckenridge, Brown, Hunt, Edwards, and Misses Magee, Wellman, Fortune and Nevins.  The committee is anxious to receive suggestions from any one as to features for the occasion.
