The general opinion of the members was that the funds on hand were not sufficiently large to warrant the investment, as the duty of the Chapter is to aid the Red Cross work, and the fighting men as much as the funds will allow.
Contributions received were $4.00 for the Canadian Red Cross Society, from Mrs. Radford, and $17.00 from the children of Upper Waldo, proceeds from the autograph quilt for the Prisoners of War Fund.
In November an extra $14.00 was added to the regular contribution of $35.00 to Prisoners of War Fund.
A sum of $15.00 was voted to the Sailors’ Day effort of the Navy League of Canada.
Early in November a Whist Drive was given by the Waldo members, and the proceeds of this, $14.50, was given by the childrens Chapter, recently organized.
