There was an opening ball given at the Moyie hotel last Thursday evening; the attendance was large and dancing was kept up until 2 o’clock the following morning; 12 couples were present.
Joseph Neiderstadt is actively engaged in getting his brewery in readiness for brewing beer.
Very little freight is coming in from the west at present, owing to the bad condition of the tote road.
The ice on the lake is breaking up and navigation will soon open.
The Muir sawmill, which was recently burned, will soon be in running order again.
J.M. Carroll, who was until recently employed with the Moyie Supply company, of this place, is establishing a store at St. Eugene Mission.
A force of men is on the Bonner’s Ferry road, getting it in condition for the large amount of travel expected this season.
Judge W.H. Fraser, who cut his wrist severely a short time ago, is convalescing, and will soon commence work on his claims.
Lindsay Cranson, as soon as the roads improve a little, will put on a daily stage and two freight teams between Moyie City and Fort Steele.
