The meanness and perversity of some persons was shown last week by the action of a certain individual. A Chinaman who owns a cabin that is vacant, gave two poor prospectors permission to live in it. The cabin was located on the river bank in an out of the way place. The ground upon which it was built was of no value or use except for frogs. I was informed that John Dean paid a man to cut down the support of the building so as to render it uninhabitable.
