NEW WINDOW PLACED AT CHRIST CHURCH. -
A further step in the beautification of Christ Anglican Church,
Cranbrook, was completed this week with the placing into position of the
three stained-glass windows, replacing the ones blown out by a severe wind
storm many years ago. Since the original glass was destroyed the space has
been closed in with woodwork, which now gives way to the beautifully
colored glass, immediately above the altar.
Delicate pastel shades are contained in the two outer lights, while
centering the middle and large panel is the figure of the Saviour bearing a
lamb in His arm. "I am the Good Shepherd" is the legend beneath the
figure.
The new windows are a generous gift to the church by an anonymous
donor. They will be dedicated by the Reverend F.V. Harrison, rural dean,
during the morning service, next Sunday, April 3rd.
