0204.0040: St. Eugene Mission

The Saint Eugene Mission, just north of Cranbrook about 7 miles, was established by Jesuit missionaries in the 1870s and grew to quite a size. A large school and church were cunstructed to serve the Ktunaxa Nation. The church survives to this day.
