0327.0005: 'Old Cranbrook - 1909' - Parkin Manor
The 1910 Parkin Manor house at 324 10th Avenue. This is one of the pen and ink sketches of "Old Cranbrook" done by local artist Garry Anderson. They are basically "Architectural Delineations" no landscaping or shadowing to detract from the wealth of detail and charm of some of the older buildings. Having received his degree in architecture from the University of B.C. in 1972, Mr. Anderson is convinced that we must learn to appreciate and preserve some of the outstanding landmarks in our cities for they give each a "unique identity" of its own.
