0315.0004: Royal Tour of The Prince of Wales

Cranbrook, B.C. - The Prince of Wales (later King Edward VIII who abdicated) on a Canadian cross-country tour by rail stops in Cranbrook to an enthusiastic crowd. The car on which the Prince is standing is the Executive Day Car "Mount Stephan", while the adjacent car to the right is the companion Night Car "Strathcona" (the "Strathcona" was donated to the Cranbrook Railway Museum by private interests in the East). You can see the crowd waving their hats in welcoming. August 25, 1927, photo by Edward Beckingham.
