            W.N. Rolfe, manager of the Nelson sawmill company was in town yesterday on business.

            It is understood that F.W. Brown will open a bank in Trail, as soon as he receives his year’s salary as postmaster.

            Collector George Johnstone of Nelson was in town Wednesday on his way to the “states” on a visit of several days.

********

            Dr. Hoyes returned Monday night from Waneta, where he had been in attendance upon the child of Mrs. Marian Davies.

********

            R.W. Northy of the Rossland Prospector called on the News Thursday night, while on his way to Northern Kootenay on a visit.

********

            D.B. Bogle, founder of the Rossland Miner, was in town Wednesday on his way to Rossland, having just returned from a trip to Scotland.

            F.S. Gibbs, general passenger agent of the Northern Pacific at Spokane, was in Trail Tuesday looking after his company’s interests, and registered at the Crown Point.

            Mrs. Click is trying to raffle off her house and furniture.  As she asks only $75, and chances are only $1 each, the lady should have no trouble to realize the amount, as she is worthy of aid.

            R.T. Daniel left yesterday morning for Rossland, B.C., to look after his interests in mines in the Trail Creek country, and also to let the contract for the building of a hotel at Trail. – Spokane Review.

            John F. Petersen returned Tuesday night from a prospecting trip to the Lakes.  He reports several good “finds,” and the News hopes they will make him a millionaire.  Money would not spoil John.

            S.B. Hendee, purser of the Nakusp who has been visiting his family in East Portland, Ore., was in Trail Monday on his way to Robson to join his boat.  Mr. Hendee is one of the C. & K.S.N. Co.’s most popular pursers.
