Heinze Tramway: 0054.0309

NEWS OF THE WEEK

The Lieutenant-Governor of this province has granted to Mr. Heinze the right to continue work on the narrow-gauge railway from Trail to Rossland, and tracklaying is well advanced.  Rails are in place in Trail to the water’s edge, over which rails will be hauled as fast as needed by the trackmen.  Workmen are excavating for the foundations of the bridge over which the track will run at the rear of the Crown Point, and work all along the line is being pushed at a rapid pace.  Up to date the weather has been favorable for work on the line, but a cold snap now threatens to embarrass the graders.
