0131.0231: First truck plow in Trail
First truck plow in district Trail - Rossland. A 1931 two ton Dodge, cyl, 4 speed transmission. Plow fabricated by Stevenson Machine Shop, Nelson. Blade raised and lowered by raising or lowering dump box. Threw to right only. No safety flip or blade. Light mounted on cab later. Greatest hazard, teams hauling cord wood from Castlegar to Trail 1935-37; driver Slim Thomas, Rossland, B.C.
