Turnbull and Underhill Marriage: 0054.0001

Miss Jessie Turnbull and Mr. C.H. Underhill Married. – A pretty wedding ceremony was solemnized at 3 o’clock last Monday afternoon which united the destinies of two of Fort Steele’s most prominent young people.

            Mr. C.H. Underhill and Miss Jessie Leslie McLaren Turnbull were the contracting parties.  The happy event was attended by a number of intimate friends of the young people, and was the first marriage ceremony performed in Steele for some time.

            The bride is a daughter of Mr. McLaren Turnbull, shipping merchant of Glasgow, Scotland, and is a handsome and accomplished young lady.  Mr. Underhill is a son of Sir Joseph Underhill, Q.C., and is a native of Glasgow.  Mr. Underhill has lately located in Steele where he is fast becoming  known as one of its most conservative and competent business men. – Fort Steele Prospector.
