ASSAULT ON CONSTABLE COST INDIAN HEAVY FINE

            Dominic Nicholas, charged with assaulting Constable Fred Ryckman at the Indian Agency here on February 4th, was adjudged guilty by His Honor Judge Thompson, presiding at County Court today, who awarded a fine of $100 with the option of six months imprisonment.  Another charge of resisting arrest preferred against Dominic was dismissed.  The case was handled for the Crown by H.W. Herchmer.  Dominic is a member of the Kootenay Indian band on the Columbia-Kootenay reservation at Windermere.
