ROTARY MINSTREL SHOW READY – Heavy Demand for Tickets for First Annual Show of Local Club.

Cranbrook is in for a minstrel show which will rival any big road attraction, when the Rotary Club will appear before the footlights at the Auditorium theatre Friday and Saturday evenings, January 5th and 6th.

The first part will open with the regular minstrel circle, all black face, and it will be worth one dollar of anyone’s money to see Doc. Miles, Doc. Green, and a number of others in full minstrel regalia.

The chorus work is snappy and peppy with all new songs.  On the end, with a raft of local jokes, will be Ted Cooper, Alan Graham, Jack Delany and Pat Sullivan.  Bill Attridge will be interlocutor.  The first part will last about one hour.

The second half will be replete with surprises.  Al DeWolf will open his prize packet and radiate joy for about fifteen minutes.  Musical numbers and sketches will take up the balance of the performance, concluding with a patriotic Canadian song, introduced for the first time in Cranbrook.

A twelve piece orchestra will accompany all choruses and a special overture, written especially for the Rotarians, will be played under the direction of Mr. George E. Bower, leader of the Cranbrook Musical Society.

Net proceeds will be devoted to community work, aiming to assist the children.  There is already a heavy demand for tickets, with sales around $400.00.
