VETS MONUMENT ON NEW SITE – W.E. Worden Handles Moving of Granite Shaft

The moving of the monument erected to the memory of soldiers fallen in the great war was accomplished this week, the granite shaft and pedestal being conveyed to the front of the government office yesterday.  By the end of the week the shaft will have been re-erected on its permanent location.  The work is being carried on by Mr. W.E. Worden under direction of civic officials.  Plans for the construction of a new ex-soldiers’ club in the vicinity of the stone are now being considered by members of the Cranbrook branch of the Canadian Legion of the United Service League of the British Empire.
