Arthur Crowe was raised at Moyie and received his first schooling in that town.
The book is of eight parts. It deals with the privileges and rights of free miners, with location, recording, performing and recording assessment work, crown grant procedure, mill sites, tunnels and rights-of-way, with placer claims and leases, with relocation of claims, etc. It also covers such important subjects as mining partnerships, disputes over claims, phosphate mining, metalliferous mines regulations, general mining company provisions, taxation of mines, etc. The book is well written and in plain and practical language which the layman can understand.
