BREWERY CO. DELEGATES ASK CITY FOR REBATE. – Council Holds Special Meeting Monday To Hear Arguments On Water Rate Case.

There was a special meeting of the city council Monday evening to listen to arguments in connection with a couple of water rate cases.  Besides Mayor Roberts, Aldermen Scott, Flowers, Jackson, Attridge and Collier were present.

A delegation representing the Cranbrook Brewing company, consisting of Messrs. Beale and Veeberg, intimated that it was the feeling of the directors that they should have an agreement covering the arrangement under which the line from Spence’s corner to their houses was installed and was to be maintained.  Mr. Beale asked that the city reimburse the brewing company for the cost of the installation in rebated water rates.

Mayor Roberts informed the delegation that the matter would be taken up and considered at the regular meeting Thursday evening.

An application was made by A.G. Head for water connection to the line recently installed by the Cranbrook Brewing company, and a statement made that the overland line to the Spence property had been discontinued owing to Mr. Spence having moved away.

It was moved by Aldermen Jackson and Scott that this be laid over until the regular meeting and after the brewery case had been dealt with.
