OFFICERS ELECTED RELIEF COMMITTEE. – Plans Discussed at Meeting in Council Chambers On Monday Evening.
The postponed meeting of the Cranbrook Relief Committee was held in the council chamber Monday evening, when about thirty interested citizens were present. Plans to provide relief were discussed and committee named to carry out the work. The duty of the committee will be directed to the local needs first, that being the impression of those speaking on the subject. The committee will appeal to every society and order in the city to assist in the work. It is proposed to secure some central place from which the distribution of clothing can be made, particularly to men. Organizations desiring to contribute to the cause of the poor and the needy can make remittance to A.J. Chisholm who has been named as secretary.
