CRANBROOK COUNCIL BURNS MIDNIGHT OIL. – Large Volume of Business On Agenda. – Discusses Unemployment Situation. – Offer Received on Concrete Plant

….Fire Chief Adams called attention to some cases where fire hose was stretched across the street and people drove over the hose with cars and even trucks.  This happened at the recent fire at the Crowsnest Cleaners.  It was impossible for the firemen to guard against this when they were busily engaged in their work.  Alderman Collier suggested that in case of a fire, a policeman should make it a (p 11) point to be there to circumvent such an occurrence.

The sale of the old steam siren to Kimberley was reported, the price for same being $50.
