LOCAL GYROS DEFEAT ROTARIANS IN CURLING – Friendly Game Friday Evening Last Ends In Closer Score

Strange scenes were witnessed at the curling rink on Friday evening last when three rinks from the Gyro club faced a similar aggregation from the Rotary club.  To one not familiar with the language of the game it is just so much hooey, when one is told to deliver a stone hack weight, tee weight, in turn and out turn and right about turn.  The skip generally speaks in a foreign language and has about three words of praise in the English language: “It’s a dandy,” “It’s a nice one,” or another word which we dare not print.

The rinks were skipped by W.M. Harris, W.H. Wilson and A. Dixon for the Rotarians, and W. Barber, Jack McLaren and Mat McCrindle for the Gyros.  At the end of the game the combined score gave the Gyros five up on their opponents.
