CRANBROOK REPRESENTED AT POULTRY CONVENTION – Vancouver To Be Permanent Location For Winter Show.

C.R. Shepherd who represented the Cranbrook Poultry Association at the annual convention of the B.C. Poultry Association at Kamloops last week, returned on Sunday.

Several matters of importance were taken up at the convention.  It was decided that in future Vancouver shall be the permanent location for the winter show.  It is hoped that the adoption of this course will tend to increase the number of entries, and make the show more successful financially than it has been when held at different cities throughout the province.

The question of an arrangement whereby exhibitors from distant points would be able to compete on an equal footing as to expense, with poultrymen living on the coast, was taken up, and it is hoped some satisfactory solution of this problem will be arrived at before the next show.

Interesting and well-prepared papers on various subjects were read by members of the Association.

The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:  J.A. Thurston, Central Park, President; W.E. Waby, Enderby, Vice-President; J.R. Terry, Victoria, Secretary; H.S. Upton, Victoria, Assistant-Secretary; W. Brennan, Kamloops, E.T. Cooper, Cranbrook, G. Halstead, Nelson, and L. Solly, Westholme, Executive.

The popularity of Mr. Cooper was evidenced by the fact that he received 19 out of a possible 23 votes.

The delegates were entertained at a banquet on Wednesday evening.

Mr. Shepherd reports the poultry show as being good.  There were about 1000 entries including some first class specimens in almost all varieties.
