GIVEN EIGHTEEN MONTHS – J. Stadtlander Sentenced for Ballot Box Stealing

Referring to the case from South East Kootenay in which J. Stadtlander was charged with the stealing a ballot box, from the returning office last June, the Nelson Tribune says: He was not represented by counsel.  After hearing the evidence the jury returned a verdict of guilty, and the prisoner was sentenced to 18 months’ imprisonment.  After learning of the verdict Stadtlander maintained his innocence.
