HATCHERY OPERATIONS NOW UNDER WAY
After a deal of fast work to prepare for the spring hatching season, the apparatus of the Cranbrook Fish Hatchery has all been transferred to the new site below the City Reservoir, water piping installed and the plant made ready for operations.
Walls have been run up around the plant and work on the roof will soon be completed. This work will enable the hatchery process to carry on for the year. It is understood Game Department plans call for a brand new hatchery building at a site just below the present one for next year, which will be permanent. The move from inside the city limits was made at this time to escape any possible bad effects from the forthcoming chlorination of the city water supply.
