Lunber Industry: 0051.0245

There is a constantly increasing demand for cars on the Crow’s Nest line for lumber and coal shipments.

Just now there is a shortage of cars for lumber, the demand being urgent, it is hard to see how the orders can be filled unless the situation is relieved by a largely increased number of cars.

The Crow’s Nest Pass Lumber Co., at Wardner, are running two shifts and cutting 100,000 of lumber daily.  The machinery for the new band mill has arrived and will be installed in the near future, this will increase the production of the mill.

The Fernie Lumber Company has finished logging and has now 6,000,000 feet of logs in the mill yard.
