Paul Harrison Award: 0053.0039

MEMORIAL FOR PAUL HARRISON – Staff and Pupils of the High School Will Perpetuate the Memory of Dead Boy.

At the instance of the staff and pupils of the High School Principal F. Buck announced yesterday the intention of the school to perpetuate the memory of Paul Harrison by establishing a fund to provide a prize for the Grad 11 pupil winning the highest marks in the junior matriculation examination in each year.  The funds will be created by the voluntary donations by the staff and school body, it being estimated that a sum sufficient to cover cost of prizes for the next ten to twelve years can be raised in that way.  The idea of a memorial fund first took shape shortly after the deceased boy’s funeral.
