Construction of High Arrow Dam

An overview (mid-1960s) of the construction of the High Arrow Dam, later known as the Hugh Keenleyside Dam on the Columbia River. Situated at the "Big Rock" just above Castlegar, this was built as a storage dam under the Columbia River Treaty.

Celgar Pulp Mill at Castlegar, B.C.

The Celgar Pulp Mill constructed on the east bank of the Columbia River at Westley, a couple of miles upstream from Castlegar. Celgar became a major employer in the Castlegar region, instrumental in allowing the community's youth to gain fulltime employment in the area they grew up in.

First truck plow in district Trail - Rossland. A 1931 two ton Dodge, cyl, 4 speed transmission. Plow fabricated by Stevenson Machine Shop, Nelson. Blade raised and lowered by raising or lowering dump box. Threw to right only. No safety flip or blade. Light mounted on cab later.
