The building blocks of Grasmere
The Industries panel was created by the Columbia Basin Institute of Regional History and The Triangle Women’s Institute as the beginning of a 20 part series of museum quality panels that will grace the Pioneer Hall walls in Grasmere.
“Industries” depicts the community’s early foundations and the industries contributing to its growth and sustainment.
The forest, ranching, and farming industries were essential to the development and well-being of the community.
This excerpt is from the panel’s introduction:
Work is our heritage, both self-employed and in the mills. The South Country residents have enjoyed employment from road construction, custom service, cutting ice, and orchard development.
